Symposium Background
WFCCP 2025 symposium aims to promote an exchange of ideas between wildlife scientists/ practitioners, researchers, research scholars, and relevant stakeholders on a few focused themes related to Wildlife Forensics. In addition, it also aims to deliberate the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Wildlife Forensics. The symposium provides network opportunities for laboratory and crime scene practitioners in the Indian context.
The symposium will include intellectual deliberations categorized under Keynote sessions, Plenary talks, Panel discussions, Workshops, and competitions. The deliberations will cover a diverse range of interesting topics such as Wildlife Trafficking and illegal Trading, Next generation tools and techniques to combat Wildlife crimes, and Endangered species management.
The 3-day symposium will offer hands-on workshops centered on fundamental skills and essential expertise, providing a unique and invaluable experience for participants and stakeholders, while also incorporating intellectual deliberations to facilitate in-depth discussions and knowledge exchange.
The symposium will commence on Tuesday, 21st January 2025 with keynote sessions and plenary talks. and a panel discussion. The second day (Wednesday, 22nd, January 2025) begins with a keynote session followed by oral and poster presentations. The third day (Thursday, 23rd January 2025) begins with thematic workshops followed by panel discussion. The symposium will be complemented by a satellite workshop in Biligiri Ranganatha Swamy Tiger Reserve on 24th and 25th January 2025.

The department's comprehensive approach caters to diverse aspects of forensic science, facilitating the pursuit of truth and justice in legal proceedings to under-graduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs.
